Hypnotherapy....wont work for me!

Updated: Sep 5, 2022

It is my belief that Hypnotherapy can work for everyone who is 'open' to being hypnotised. You can be hypnotised if you want to be.

#Hypnosis a simply a natural state of being that we are in many times even on a daily basis.

The hypnotic 'trance' is the same brainwave state that we enter just before we sleep at night and when we wake in the morning. It's very relaxing!

Likewise, when we suddenly arrive at our destination but can't remember driving there.

Or when you're so focused watching a film, you don't hear conversation in the background.

Can you identify with these scenarios?

If the answer is

YES,

YOU

have already been

HYPNOTISED!

We only spend 20 - 50% of wakefulness in a conscious and alert 'Beta' brainwave state each day.

The rest of our awake state can be subconscious, Alpha and Theta brainwaves that are more like a trance or meditation. These are also the brainwave states we access in Hypnosis so we are all really quite used to it!

How can Hypnotherapy help?

Well, the Subconscious Mind is estimated to be around 30000 times more powerful than the conscious mind!

Your brilliant #subconsciousmind stores your beliefs and every single experience, memory, and skill your have learnt through your entire life.

Everything that you have seen, done or thought is also there. It is your guidance system.

In hypnosis the subconscious mind wakes up, and the conscious mind quietens down. This is when we can review past experiences and ask questions to understand where the root of the issues has stemmed from - what limiting beliefs or learned behaviours have been formed as a result of the experience?

All the answers to understanding whatever is holding us back, lie within the subconscious.

From anxiety, confidence and self-esteem to healing of physical symptoms, your incredible mind can understand it all in hypnosis.

Will I be out of Control?

Just like when you are in a mediative state, engrossed in the television or on autopilot in the car, you are awake and in control but so absorbed in what you're doing you're not worried about anything else.

It's exactly the same when you are in hypnosis during a RTT® session. You simply close your eyes, and your therapist will use deepening techniques to make you feel relaxed and switch off the critical chattering conscious mind that asks how? and why?

All the answers can come directly from your subconscious without being filtered.

The conscious mind is simply bypassed so we can access beliefs formed many years ago and allow your subconscious mind to become receptive to new positive suggestions.

  • Your therapist cannot give you suggestions if you don't agree with them.

  • You are aware and will remember everything that has happened during the session.

  • You can open your eyes and stop at any time at all.

  • You are in control.

Will I cluck like a chicken?

Hypnotherapy is very different to stage hypnosis which is carried out as a form of entertainment often the subjects are chosen for their extraverted personalities - those who are happy to be in the lime light for a bit of fun.

Hypnotherapy has a very different intention, for the client to internally recognise and understand how their experiences have shaped their beliefs and to reprogram the subconscious mind to see things from a more positive and adult perspective.

I don't want to relive trauma!

'Unexpressed emotion will never die. They are buried alive and will come forth later in unglier ways' - Sigmund Freud.

The unknown can be daunting but your subconscious recalls conscious and unconscious memories that are already known to your mind.

In order to move forward and let go of the past we need to understand it, to acknowledge it and then change the thoughts around it. If you're ready to do that and have made the decision to find freedom within, you have already taken the courageous first step to transformation which is often be the hardest.

During the a session your therapist may take you back to the root cause of the issue in order to understand and reframe the experience. Often the regression takes you somewhere you least expect to go. We always trust what comes up as your mind always knows exactly what experiences will provide all the answers you need.

If you do go back to a traumatic scene, it's important to know you are simply reviewing it NOT reliving it. After all, you've already lived it and survived so its just like watching a movie from a safe place along side your therapist who is there to guide you through every step of the way.

Do you know what your subconscious mind believes?

Your subconscious mind believes everything. It has no filter and doesn't know the difference between what's true and what's not. It accepts everything you tell it and always has done, good or bad. Our thoughts are like seeds, they take root and grow.

In hypnosis we can weed out the bad thoughts and plant good ones in their place so you can expand and grow to live the life you were always meant to have.
